Curiosity, especially about the natural world
I am deeply passionate about learning how other people experience life. This is part of the reason my friends know me as “the interviewer;” I love to ask people questions to get a sense of how they perceive things or what they’re most interested in. This extends to understanding the lives of plants and animals as well and, on a less cute note, to figuring out a granular issue in a piece of software.
What Drives Me
Joy, specifically how to add a little in my community
Have you ever looked at a little chipmunk and wondered why they’re so darn cute? They don’t have to be biologically, but the good looks of rodents and other animals add a spark of joy to a walk through the woods or even just your neighborhood. My projects follow a similar rule: They don’t have to be whimsical or beautiful, but isn’t it so much better if they are?

Projects
Annual reports
I blended writing and reporting to tell the story of what it means to be a refuge for bats, and how a small team can have a great impact.
Salesforce NPSP
I took a nonprofit from no CRM at all to a system that tracks donations, volunteers, and service delivery.
Program management
When I saw my nonprofit needed more hands on deck, I took action and created processes to grow and maintain our team.
